This course has been designed to provide the additional 20 hours training that the DVSA require you to take to satisfy the conditions of your Trainee Licence or ‘Pink Badge’.
This training also ‘bridges the gap’ between role play or theoretical training and real life driving lessons.
As a PDI you have a duty to ensure this training has been undertaken within the first 3 months of obtaining your badge and before your first Part Three test attempt.
Of the 20 hours at least 5 of them must be completed ‘in-car’.
This course offers a combination of both in-car and home study, and provides solid training to give you the knowledge and confidence to guide you towards Part Three success, and satisfy the DVSA requirements.
The course has been designed by Steve Corrall, an ORDIT qualified ADI trainer and former DVSA driving examiner. Steve has had over 25 years’ experience in the driver training industry, and as an examiner conducted numerous ADI qualification tests and Standards Checks.
The course is comprised of the following:-
Three observed lessons – These are two- hour sessions where you will be observed giving a lesson to a pupil including a one- to- one feedback session. (6hr)
Action plans – Following each observed session you will receive written feedback and asked design an action plan to take forward. (3hr)
Reflective log – You will be encouraged to reflect on any pupil lessons going forward, and to record brief notes. These logs will be discussed at a scheduled Zoom call. (3hr)
Two Zoom sessions – These are live one-to-one, hour-long sessions where we will discuss the Part Three test in detail and also your reflective log work. Following each Zoom session you will receive written feedback and asked to design an action plan to take forward. (4hr)
Home study modules – Subjects include suggested Part Three lesson subjects and examples of examiner’s feedback from actual Part Three tests. (4hr)
